Capitol City Quilt Guild (CCQG) was organized in March, 1984, to encourage fellowship, cooperation, and learning among area quilters and to promote public appreciation for creativity and high standards for quilting.  CCQG is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization giving to the community education, hosting quilt shows to spread the art of quilting.  The Guild members make and donate quilts for various charities and as well as provide free education seminars for the public on the art of quilting.

Hello fellow quilt lovers!  I think we have hit Michigan Spring at last…those False Springs are so deceptive! It’s got me scurrying around with chores, and tackling the spring cleaning of the quilt cave. Keep in mind that the Guild is holding a public garage sale in Okemos, so make a pile/box/suitcase-full of things you are needing to re-home. I know at our last garage sale I came home with quite a bit of treasure. But it was new treasure! And someone took home my old treasures! All good in my eye.

I have been remiss in updating this message, my apologies. The guild had a really busy first quarter of 2024!  It has just flown by, the Spring retreat, National Quilting Day, and our 40th birthday party are in the books. All very successful & a lot of fellowship and fun.

Next up, elections for our 2024-2025 Board. I am looking forward to being ‘Past President’, my intention is to provide assistance to any of the other volunteer committees. Even though I had some challenges with the Feds and paperwork and all, it has been an enormously positive experience.

I appreciate you all so much.
